Warning on shipping...IN USA and OUT of USA

I've had two bad events this last month, not bad after years of shipping items..I ship by USPS flat rate boxes in large part..Mistake was NOT charging for delivery confirmation and insured..I made refunds to the buyers but still wonder what happen to the boxes, labeled well, taped heavy ect.SO for all who ship during this busy season a loud warning.CAUTION charge shipping as needed to protect your items,,we all like to save money but???...I treat all as honest buyers but ??

A very timely warning. I just shipped (USPS) my 13 yr old Oehler 35P to Austin for repair, and at the last minute, I remembed to insure it for $500, but didn't even think to ask for delivery confirmation. With Oehler that's fine, but every once in a while the Post Office will "lose" something, or some individual will decide to stiff you.

Thanks for the reminder! Tom

If it's Insured, there is little need for Delivery Confermation as the Insured item must be signed for upon receipt.
Holiday season can be a tuff time for shipping, and extra thought/care is good advise.

Bought a barrel from a Gent last year, shipped Priority, Insured. He shipped just after Thanksgiving. It being a Priority Shipment we both expected it to travel in a few days as normal.
Long story short, it showed up the 29th day. >:( 2 days before we could file the Insurance claim

Don't forget to take the time to put your return address.

If you have delivery confirmation, and your package, for whatever reason, does not get delivered....the tracking stops there and the package goes directly to a lost mail facility if they cannot find a clear "from" address.

Don't ask me how I learned this, I'll only become a raving lunatic again.

MQ, another good point. Just as a precaution, in addition to the Post Office furnished label for the outside of the box, I stamped my return address on the inside of one of the box flaps, and stuck one of my TSRA address labels to the chronograph itself. May be overkill, but I doubt it.

USPS only requires a signature if the item is insured for more than $200.
