So now ANY semi-automatic firearm with 10 round capacity (or greater) is being defined as an "assault weapon". Everyone should realize this bill would include [and make illegal] a very large number of handguns. This alone should reveal how the gun grabbers are yet again trying to disguise their true motives as something else.

Having repeatedly been defeated in their more open efforts to remove any type of firearms from the hands of American citizens, they have been forced to constantly attempt to nibble away at the edges, hoping to establish a new more favorable baseline, from whence they can continue to nibble further, ultimately achieving their stated goal of a gun-free America.

Don't be deceived, misled, shamed, or browbeaten into believing their ultimate intention is anything less than removal of every single firearm from the hands of American citizens. Once they achieve that goal, your days as a free citizen with input into your own governance are over. Don't believe for a second that this couldn't happen, there are examples of how individual freedoms are being trampled or simply disappearing regularly under the guise of "progressive" policies, more honestly known as socialist and liberal policy. That is exactly why the 2nd Amendment was wisely included within the Bill or Rights.

It's illegal in many states currently to go afield with more than a 5 Rd magazine. It's the assault weapon definition that they are completely ignorant about. Most if not all semi auto deer it sporting rifles can accept a magazine that carries 10+ rds. It's about taking all guns. This is just a foot in the door deal. People don't kill people, guns kill people( ya right)! Just like drunks don't kill people, vehicles kill people. They can't take an Oldsmobile off the road but they sure want our guns. Guns kill people, pencils mis spell words. Cars drive drunk and spoons make people fat. Where does it end.

They all have the Rosie O Donnell mentality. Guns can be used to protect their own lives only. In law enforcement, I LOVE seeing armed civilians. If I ever am in need of additional support in a bad situation gone worse, I would hope the civilian Calvary would step up. I know the punk libs will duck, hide and shit their pants. Gun toting civilians will take a stand and put themselves in harm's way to stop the threat. That's just what happens with trained gun carrying Patriots. They defend.

I assume you guys saw that it has surfaced that the Resource officer/Sheriff's deputy was armed and on the scene but did not go inside to stop the shooter? Once his actions, or lack thereof, surfaced he resigned/retired. That should take some of the wind out of their sails.

The Government has failed yet again. Law enforcement had been warned this was eminent and did nothing. Now, law enforcement had a chance to limit the carnage and did nothing. How can they ever justify trying to limit our legal rights when history has proven the government is so inept at protecting the public?

Hey, Don't be so quick to judge the deputy in that situation..He may have peeked in the hallway & puked..We can't say..None of us can say w/o knowing or standing there..I'll tell you this: the one armed LE at the pulse nightclub shooting ducked also..Facing down a crazy man with a rifle is not something I'd like to have to deal with..I'm not sure how I would have dealt with it either. I'd like to think if I had the shot from behind that crazy I'd take it..You just train & pray you are strong enough to do what has to be done when/if it happens..Mike in Ct

If that’s the case you should no longer serve in that position. That’s why you get a paycheck to do stuff like that. That deputy has zero excuse for why he didn’t go in. The same thing happened with columbine. The police didn’t go in for 3 hours. They were “developing” the situation. Police were on scene in columbine when they started the massacre in the library.

We had soldiers who said they didn’t want to fight in Afghanistan. We sent them home and they were chaptered from the military for either mental health or failure to adapt. The same can be said for police. It’s a hard job, and scary no doubt, but you have to perform. If you don’t then what’s the point?

I was driving back here to NOhio from New Hampshire the day the shooting happened, I was in New York when the radio broadcast I was listening to broke in with a special report about what had happened. The first reporting officer on the scene said that the shooting had stopped, and along with the dead students the dead body of the then alleged shooter was found with two (2) 9MM pistols along side his body. The officer then said that an AR15 was found in the locked vehicle that the shooter had driven to the scene of the shooting and was by all accounts un-fired. I have no reason to doubt the officers description of the events that transpired, and the weapons found there. As I understand it, the state of Connecticut is suing Bushmaster, is this correct, and for building a rifle that wasn't used in the commission of a crime, what the hell kind of a legal system do they have there?
