Forum Boss:

STAY AWAY.

There are multiple indicators that this recently-created Component-Connection enterprise is not to be trusted:

English language spelling errors
No BBB rating
No User feedback
No Physical store address listed
No indication of how email addresses were obtained
800 Number registered to Vodaphone account in India

Also member Highpower-Fclass observed:

- The domain name was registered 2 weeks ago
- No information on where they are located
- Only contact information is a 800 phone number and email address
- The so called 'Inventory' page shows no information other than that they supposedly have everything in stock
- No pricing information whatsoever

STAY AWAY. PROTECT Yourself!

Welcome to component-collection [sic -- not Component-Connection] ...

I would like to introduce myself and explain on a more personal level why I created this company. As you know, due to an increased market demand we're all having issues finding necessary components for our reloading needs.

Over the past several years I've had the opportunity to meet some well-known and highly respected business individuals in this industry and we as a collective group have decided to work together and focus on helping each other. [Other text deleted]

Glad I’m not the only one that has gotten fooled by the bugs.... more than once!! I guess like anything I would be kind of skeptical having never heard of that place about the reloading components.

Not sure, but I believe this is against forum rules, posting vendors ads on the forum. Interested in seeing Forum Boss's reaction.
Absolutely NOT endorsing them! I never heard of them and am very skeptical - especially since it showed up in my spam folder! I am just wondering if anyone else received this email and who sold my info so that I received it?

That site looks sketchy.

Tempted to ask for a quote for 100 lbs of Varget from a temporary email just to see what they come back with

In the last couple of weeks I've been looking for small rifle primers. None to be had, of course. There were 3 "johnny-come-lately" sites with plenty of them. Then they wanted bitcoin or some other digital form of payment; no credit cards. Scam!

What a freaking scam. I’d love to get my hands on these con artists. In fact, I have really enjoyed turning the tables on the scammers when they call me once a week about an unauthorized $750 charge on my Amazon account for an iPhone 12. I try to screw with them and keep them on the phone as long as possible. It’s actually super funny to hear how mad they get when they find out that you are playing them.

The most hilarious part is when you call the 1-800 number listed in their ad, you get a generic voicemail that lists a completely different phone number and NO introduction or message to the supposed “component connection” company you are supposedly calling. I plan on continuing to call these clowns and see what info I can discern about their scam. Someone give me the name of a discontinued powder or bullet and I will ask them how much stock they have of it and how new the stock is. This would be a dead giveaway they are the scammers we think they are.
These clowns piss me off to no end.

I suppose that's why it ended up in my spam folder. I didn't bother to call because that lets them know they have a valid email and phone number.

I call them from an untraceable work line.

Do not open the email if you received it.

Regarding our Member email list.

We have never shared our member emails with any mail marketing delivery service -- not Constant Contact, not Mail Chimp.

We have never shared our email list with any vendor, even with site sponsors, despite requests to do so.

Bottom line, the Forum info is shielded behind a very effective firewall and we have never given the Forum emails to any third-party entity ever.

FWIW, I have checked the email mailbox of every admin/moderator/tester email we created for this site. NONE of the 8 accounts showed the Component Connection email -- not in regular mail, not in spam. It wasn't there.

From this I conclude that Component Connection grabbed the email off a different site or from a Forum that "rents" its email list. Not us.

I certainly did not mean to imply that my email was somehow connected to this site. But, somebody sold my information. I am truly sorry if it was interpreted that I meant this site was responsible. In no way do I think that.

I didn't get it that email but a friend was scammed on powder/primers from an outfit in Kansas. IT was FIREARMS WORLD. They only took bitcoins and ZELLE. He sent the ZELLE and got nothing. ZELLE does not back up things like this like your CC dose. He was out about $400.00. Of course after it happened he started sleuthing and found bad juju all over the net about them.
