i want to upgrade my rear bag to a better more sturdy rear bag. what is a good bag for 100 or less? thanks for any info.

Protektor Deluxe would be a good choice. It has a nice thick doughnut and very sturdy. Can't beat it for the price.

The Protektor's Doctor bag filled with heavy sand gets my vote, you can purchase it direct from them already filled.

Regards
RJ

Yeah, the Dr bag is real nice. It $120 filled with heavy sand. I just got one the other day. Not sure if is a PA thing, but if you have Protektor ship to a gun shop, its free shipping. Worth a phone call to ask. They will build to your specs.

I poured out some of my Caldwell's sand, and contact glued a piece of 1/4" MDF to the bottom, then filled with sand again. Now it sits flat and sturdy.

Flat will only sit flat on flat. ( :) Say that fast three times.)Some of the best short range Benchrest shooters favor the Otto ring, under a relatively thin bottomed bag. The square ring sand bag cradles the bag that sits on it, keeping it from rocking, and both together can conform to a less than flat bench.
