Thank you Walt!
Well, another round of meetings are complete with this weekends Competitions and Programs committee
meeting as the last of the year. There were only four motions required in Smallbore with only one affecting
F-sbr. The one which was approved and forwarded to the Board of Directors was the one regarding the
Smallbore Distinguished for F-sbr.
The motion added F-sbr to the prone distinguished program. The rules will be the same the
only difference will be a prone distinguished with the letters “F-sbr” vs “Prone” The rules for
earning the badge are found on page 74 of the smallbore rulebook. Main rules are placing in
the top 10% of all competitors. Four steps are required, two may be earned in any calendar
year and one must be earned at the National Outdoor Championship. Steps may only be earned
in Regional and National Championships.
Speaking of the Nationals, the dates for the Nationals are set for July 23rd through
the 4th of August. Put them on your calendar and pass them along to your friends.
Let’s have a crowd at the nationals next year. It is a new beginning to build new
traditions and memories
One change to the course of fire has been approved. The Conventional Prone has been increased to four
matches per day amounting to a 6400 aggregate for sling shooters. For F-sbr shooters firing the last two days
this will amount to a 3200 vs this year’s 2400. A 50-yard match has been added which means we in F-sbr will
fire on the A-51 target. (50 meters reduced for 50 yards) The Metric Portion of the Grand Aggregate will
remain a 2400 so the Grand Aggregate will total 5600 possible points
An update on the construction at Camp Atterbury. All the pieces for the cover are being manufactured as we
speak. Targets frames and benches are also under construction. Concrete and earth moving is scheduled to
begin in the spring, probably March. Construction is scheduled to be finished by May when testing will begin
to be ready for the matches on July 1st.
Team fees for smallbore were discussed and the following was reached. Non-fired(paper) matches, $40 for
four-man teams, $20 for two-man teams. Fired matches $80 for four-man teams.
Sticker Matches were discussed and briefed by Edie Fleeman. Staff will take this under consideration. Just a
brief reminder that sticker matches consist of labels which in combination can be attached to any target
matching the sticker course of fire. Ex: COF is Dewar. A sticker can be attached to any 50 yard and any 100-
yard target to count for the Sticker match score and the target still counts for the normal match intended for.
Because of lack of entries the Any Sight Only Civilian Championship was voted to be removed from the
national match program. F-sbr as replacement
The committee requested that the Marianne Driver Trophy be appropriately relabeled as the F-sbr Grand
Aggregate Award.
Just a note about Regional Matches. If one is to be held near you or you are thinking of attending please
remind the match director he must request medallions for F-sbr if it is included in the qualified championship.
Otherwise F-sbr will not receive medallions nor get credit toward distinguished
