Walther ssp target pistol

I would expect so. I shot a GSP for years - I still have the .22, having sold the .32 S+W top.
ISSF pistols tend to be a personal choice, in terms of balance and ergonomics, rather than accuracy, which, quite honestly is a given. No-one will ever sell a pistol into that market that was not "accurate". Most manufacturers that have tried and failed have usually fallen over due to reliability as misfeeds/jams are devastating to scores. Very rare to see a Walther misfeed that was properly looked after.

The SSP came along when rule changes stopped the use of .22 Short for the Rapid Fire match, deemed necessary as too many competitors were scoring 600's. The target had already been changed, going to a circular target, away from the rectangular one, which allowed more vertical errors. The pistol can be used in "Standard Pistol" which is an ISSF match, not included in the Olympics, as well as the Womens Standard Handgun event.

I am assuming that you are intending to shoot ISSF events, otherwise this would be a poor investment. If you are, I would suggest shooting a LOT more pistols before spending the cash. I would expect Walther to be at some of the major events and likely to have a demo model there.

No - just a bullseye match - looking for something besides a ruger mark 4.
I would be looking for a pre- loved Walther GSP, Hammerli 208, Hammerli 280, Unique (French- nice pistol), or even one of the Russian Margolins, which Cabelas used to import. A Smith and Wesson Mod 41 will outshoot a Ruger any day, although they suffer from a non-adjustable trigger.

Thanks for the suggestions

I have one that I use for Bulls Eye and it’s great! I also shoot a Pardini. If your interested I’d sell the SSP.
