Walther KKJ MA rifle

I just bought a near mint Walther KKJ in 22 mag. and would like some evaluation of its quality. I have two young boys who want learn to shoot targets, and thought it would be a very good gun for that purpose. Also, I like to shoot squirrels, etc. on the military base nearby. I don't want to risk ruining this gun if it is too good for these purposes or used in a better way. Any info is much appreciated.

22LR would most likely be a better choice for the boys. (more shooting, less dollars) That said, no reason not to hunt with it. You don't have to beat a rifle to hunt with it, especially tree rats.
