Walnut Xring

Hired Gun Painting
Silver $$ Contributor
This project is for a customer I've never spoke with, and a gunsmith I've spoken with once.
Project was referred to me by Jason at Xring and was supposed to be a curly maple.
Brown, copper, and vintage amber dyes were used to enhance the beautiful grain in this piece.
Jason will be receiving this back for professional photographs for his website. 20220530_112413.jpg20220530_112350.jpg20220530_112326.jpg20220530_112243.jpg20220530_112301.jpg20220530_112147.jpg

Brett,
I see you said it was supposed to be maple, but your title says walnut...what is the story behind the difference? Just a curiosity question.
I was supposed to receive a curly maple stock from the gunsmith, but got this 1 instead by mistake.
I asked Jason if I should return it...
His response was, well you have it you might as well finish it. Lol
He said something about giving him an invoice.....
What's a invoice? Lol

I think we discussed his gardening habits in a previous thread.

Maybe just a couple of drops of the good stuff !! When you
mentioned vintage amber dyes, first thing I thought of was, you
pulled another cork for Memorial Day ??.... As always, looks like
another good payday....

Wowza! That is awesome. I figured you for "just paint" (huge understatement) but here i see wood and dye and finish. Is there anything you can't do?

Off topic, but I think your table top plants need some water and fertilizer...
Parker! He is a master of all the subcategories of finishes. He actually can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear!

Ok, Brett........let that go to your head. You’ve earned it.
Question: Where’s your model? Did you quit paying her?

Thanks Josh.
She quit on me, something to do with me being a A$$#@!e so she says.
She says I make her look fat and take ugly pictures of her.
I said it's all the damn beer you drink.
Thats when I got punched!!
I sure love my bride .

I'm trying a new to me Rye aged in a Sherry cask.16539398726056373350480875345.jpg
I thought I'd give it a shot so to speak.
Great things come out of Kentucky, great whiskey and Bart's Bullets!!
The James Oliver is aged in a new oak barrel and is the same whiskey as the Ghost Owl, only the Ghost Owl is aged in a old wine barrel making it extremely smooth and mellow, while somewhat sweet.
