Walmart ammo

You're preaching to the Quior Ray. Any one can harm anyone else with virtually any object. You just never gear of someone going into a school with a 32TPI hack saw and murdering 10 children. The last time I recall news about someone being killed with a hammer was 20 years ago in Laughlin when the HA's and another "club" got into it in a casino. Unfortunately firearm, Aircraft and Trains make spectacular stories, not someone being stabbed. not often anyway.

I seldom buy ammo from Walmart, I do purchase other items from time to time and will continue to do so. I think in general Walmart supports shooting, hunting , fishing and camping along with allowing absurd attire to be on display by patrons of questionable physique, and that entertains me as I shop.

Seems like a lot of folks bemoan the effect walmart has on local businesses. This is good news for independent gun stores, right?

I wonder. If public opinion, laws, law suits and the like have companies like Dicks, Walmart etc rethinking firearm related sales, and we as shooters, at least many here on this forum (as a sample) don't like BPS or Cabelas any more, and I am not saying they shouldn't, and those companies , for arguments sake, go away, we might just end up with the local gun store.

Now the bad news: If they (antigun / no opinion) people and politicians can put those big companies with their deep pockets, corporate lawyers, lobbyist and political donations out of business, it would take little effort to run the little shops out of business. It can be done easily with licensing, building and storage permits, zoning etc.

So maybe we should ease up on the big guys for a while until this calms down a bit. Except Dick's, F**k Dick's

I hate to play the devil's advocate, but Walmart isn't going anywhere. Nor will they suffer any losses from the gun enthusiast community deciding to boycott them. They will gain more sales from customers who support this PR stunt than they will lose in 2nd amendment die-hards. I guarantee someone at corporate has already done the risk assessment and determined that this approach will earn Walmart the highest profits. That's the way that corporate America works. We can all still choose to not do business there, so we can still sleep at night.

I don't care, it's not going to be with my money

They are putting themselves out of business all in the name of picking a side, a very silly business move in my opinion. i wonder why business men have to get involved in politics and try to make decisions for people.

The bottom line is that as long as people will be willing to buy at Wally World because it is the only place they can afford to shop while living on the dole, the dole will continue and become the coveted source of income. All jobs will be outsourced and all consumption will be subsidized by the dole. This is the Road to Serfdom F. A. Hayek articulated. Love it, embrace it. It is the goal those who object to Adam Smith have set as the standard. The only question being, who pays for the dole when all are on it? That is a rhetorical question.
