WA State Long Range Championship June 17-18, 2017 ** RESULTS **

Had a ton of fun... great weather, great people, well run match.

Switches were fast and the amount of the switches were exciting. Always great when you can put a few into the 10/X ring and follow that up with a "7". That's the 'Snake for you.

Shout out to Bill P in FTR who got it all dialed in on first relay on Sunday. 196-6x was his personal best at 1000yds. Awesome score... me, I got spanked on the same relay.

Two more Cdn F class shooters came down... Greg D did super in F Open for his first match at Rattlesnake. Matthew L did well and improved a ton each relay on Saturday.

The match in Oct is on the Cdn Turkey day weekend.... ummm, might be a tough sell to get away but.... got the whole summer to work on it :-)

Hope to get down in July but if not, enjoy the summer and hopefully, see you all in the fall.

The typical 'Dorothy & Toto' winds were on Friday, during the practice (gusts over 35 mph). Saturday and Sunday had relatively mild 5-10 mph winds, quartering from 4 o'clock thru 8 o'clock. Fairly easy to see when you were up in a chair watching thru a spotting scope. Down on the ground watching thru the same scope... not so much, at least not for me. Pretty much one of those days where every shot felt like it was a sighter...

It was still a pretty good time :D

It was good to finally meet you and put a face to the name. Actually enjoyed coaching at Rattlesnake but find myself somewhat "behind" Gary Rasmussen and Steve Hardin on the wind there. Friday was a lesson in frustration with the high winds and they seemed to be coming in a sine wave kind of thing where they cycled up and down about 5 mph at a rapid frequency. The best we could do was "bracket" some sight settings and send rounds down range. Got home this morning at 3:00 AM so feeling kind of "spent" but it was good to meet some new people and make some new friends. Hope to get back there some day.
