Curiously, I just fireformed some WW and RP 7-08 brass for my 7-08AI and there was a curious result
The WW weighs 163.6gr with fired primer, and the RP 166.4gr with fired primer
They both measure the same at the presure web, the shoulder, and the oal base to shoulder measured with the hornady headspace gauge and case oal.
The ww has a water capacity of 57.9gr
the RP has a water capacity of 58.2gr
It seems to me the heavier rp should have less water capacity than the lighter ww, UNLESS the alloy of the two is such that the weight of the RP brass is heavier for its physical dimension than the ww
Have any of you experienced this or and ideas that i have missed.
