vvn140/ berger 105/108's starting load

Am wanting to try out some vv n140 in a 6br with berger 105 and 108's. Gun has a looong Freebore,.134). Does 30.0 grains sound like a good starting load? chris

In Belgium the N 140 powder is very popular an lots off shooters are using 29.3 grains with naked 105 Lapua bullets

Thanks Dave! I managed to get out this weekend and try out n 150 and n140 with berger 105vld's. n 150 at about 30.8grs and n 140 at about 30.2. both gave me about 2850fps but n 140 held tighter groups at 200 yards. Will do further testing with n 140. Rifle is a trued rem 700, 28" kreiger .237 bore. .134 frrebore 6br.

I also noticed that n 150 seemed to work better with the tangent ogive bullets,107mk's/108 berger match) and 140 with the secant ogive bullets, berger, jlk 105's) Possibly due to trhe greater,or less)bearing surface between the two types,??) maybe someone out there could add to this as this is just a guess....
