If you test from 32.5 gr. Varget and go up .2 of a grain at a time and test for just kissing the lands and working your way into them .003 at a time you should find a spot your barrel likes. I have over 10,000 rounds fired over the last 4 yrs in 6BRX and this has worked for me. I also favor BR4 primers. The only bullet I use are EPS 106 gr., because they are so consistent I no longer sort them like you must with every other bullet I have used if you want the best results. Saves a lot of time. My current Kreiger likes 33.4 gr. Varget with about .010 into the lands. Once I have a load I then fine tune it and keep it in tune with a Bob Green tuner. You must remember every barrel is a bit different . I do all mytuner work at 100yds. I use the gun for matches form 100 to 1000 yds.

Depends on your freebore as to where you will end up but as mentioned above 32.5 is a great starting point.

Thanks Jeff for your reply. Have not heard of EPS bullets, is there a website for them?

Judd. I have .120 free bore, so may not have to jump as far as Bob does,.
and Jeff is slightly jamming. So will have to test to see what barrel will like.
The conditions here now are 24F degrees, a little to cold for me to get out.

I shoot .104 freebore and end up at 32.6...most guys shooting the .135+ end up over 33 and some even in the 34 range.

What velocity are you getting w/32.6?

Brux 28" barrel 8.5 twist w/ a Harrels brake in HV contour...it's 3100...which for the record appears to be a fast one by about 50fps. My other barrels have been running a little slower.

Yeah, 3100 seems fast for that load, I usually run 3020-3040 in my Dasher(s) with good results
