VV Powder for 22BR and 222Rem

I'm going to try some VV powder in my 22BR and hope to get lucky and be able to use the same powder in my 222.
VitaVouri's beb site doesn't have any data for the 22BR but it does have 222 loads for both N133 fot lite bullets,40's) and N135 for heavier bullets like the 55's.
I don't care what bullets I shoot in the 222 but do want to shoot the 52gr match bullets in my 22BR.

Any actual experience with these calibers and VV powder would be greatly appreciated.

just got my .22br up and running v135-32.0gns with a 52berger match sparked by br4 primers gets me 1/2' @100yds.gun is a nesika with a kreiger bbl 14 twist it prefers the 52a max though.
as always start lower work up.good luck.

Thanks Gary,,,,,,,,, My barrel is also a 14twist,Pac-Nor) so that's very relevent information.
Mine doesn't much care for the 52gr Bergers either but shoots 52Hor.MHP's well. Go Figure???
I've always had better accuracy with flat base bullets,, so I was a little confused when the Bergers didn't do well.
I plan to try some 53gr Sierra's too, but right now I'm focused on Powder.. One thing at a time ya know...

Try VV N-540 in your .22BR, you'll be surprised at the velocities you can get, plus accuracy. But, it won't work in the .222, for it you will need VV N-130.

Interesting, can you give us some figures Ole?

I'm using RL15 or VVN135 for my 64 gr Berger loads, and H322 for 55 gr loads.

My 22BR is likes VV133 pretty well. Accuracy with 50BK's is from 3780 up to 3940. Beyond that shows overpressure signs and groups start opening. About the same accuracy is 748, from 3820 to about 4000 with 50's. The absolute best powder in this gun is RL15.....accuracy is from 3700 to 3900. At 3700-3800 some groups are so small people wouldn't believe it, shooting the 50gr Sierra Blitzking and Blitz.

I have a Rem 40X with a 1-12 Shilen barrel. The following works well for me. The usual cautions apply and your mileage may vary.

.222 for Rem 40X
Norma Case – 1.685 – Remington 7½ Primer
VihtaVuori Oy N130 – 20.6 grains
Berger 52 Moly
3136 FPS,Chronographed)

I have some of the most recent batch of Lapua cases on hand but have not yet used them to work up a load.

I have best results with .222 Lapua case full of VV133 in a 700 w/ HV bbl....shoots with my PPC LV in a MILD conditions.

On another post you say 31,5grs !!!!!

People reading your post may be very careful !!!!!!!!!!

The limit for 22BR with SMK 80 grs seems to be around 31,2 31,3grs of VV150
