VV loads for 22-250

I am looking for loads using a 52gr bullet and VV N150, N140 and N550. I am getting loads in books and online where the starting loads in one book are max in another. Some loads in books show a starting load that is over max in another. The loads that VV has online are all quite a bit lower than all others. Where to begin?

Let me guess Sierra is low and Hornady is high. There is a similar issue between Sierra and Hornady with 270 win loads and 150 gr bullets. Sierras MAX was 4.0 grs LESS than Hornadys START load with a specific powder.
Now to your question..... I tend to use data for the brand of bullets I plan on using.
VV seems to run lower charge weights but you can GENERALLY get better performance (speed/accuracy) on the higher end.
When I start a new combination I run a pressure test. I load single rounds with 3 tenths charge increases and measure case expansion and look for primer issues.

i used n135 with my 22-25o in that bullet range —- id pick a load out of the vv book and start there

I got online today to buy one of these books, no one has the 4th addition or the 2024 and if they did I would have to sell half my gun collection to pay for it. I think $187
seems mine came free somehow- they are just a cheap paperback. i think redding puts them in with their presses and some of the venders give them away. if i have an extra ill send it to you. im not a mil guy either. funny those prs guys are all about the mils but they are out there shooting at yard marked ranges
where i go

edit::: just tried to send you a pm but it wouldnt work--- grafs has the 2024 VV manual for free. --now that u mention it i think ill order something and get one

In my factory 700, N140 up to 36-38gr shoots small & fast with 52 Speer FBHPs, Bergers or Barnes Match Burners. N150 does the same (but seems to be a few fps faster) also @ 36-38gr. All in Lapua brass with either 210Ms or red box Winchester match (WRGLM) primers, bullets seated to touch.

The upper loads are on the warm side in my rifle, another grain of powder started to show light ejector scrubs. Your stuff is different, so reduce by 10% & work up as possible. I'm leaning toward using N150, but will see what happens when the temp gets warmer. The cheaper N100 series stuff shoots well enough that there's no reason to try N550 in this rifle.

I had one of their manuals a few years ago, I got rid of it when I saw how modest their loads were.
I do use some N160 for some 22-250 & 220 Swift loads but with heavier bullets. Found other sources for data.
