vv 550 and 22-250

I just dug out my notes on .22-250 a while ago for another thread.

VVN-550 is a tad too slow for your choices of bullets. But if you jump up to the 75 gr. AMAX, you'd be right in there kicking and screaming.

VVN-540 will be in the right range but any of the high intensity powders will be harder on your barrel than some other choices assuming of course that you're talking about a varmint load... I shoot in higher wind areas so the longer, heavier bullets suit my situation just fine with a faster twist rate.

Standard chamber with standard seating, I'd run VVN-140 and never look back. Good velocity with a slightly cooler burning powder which should be easier on the throat. Ramshot Big Game and IMR-3031 also.
