VV 133 vs VV 140 for 95-105 gr bullets

I was reading testimonials from Jack Neary and others on VV 133. I assume Jack shoots PPC in the 68-70gr range. Is VV 133 a good choice for heavier bullets in 6BR like 105gr hybrids than VV140? If I look at VV reloading data base, there are no reloading data for VV133 and bullets heavier than 77gr.

I have used VV-N133 in the 30BR with 125 gr. bullets but not in the 6BR nor the 6BRX.

N133 is too fast burning for the 6BR with >100gn bullets. N135 is as fast burning as you can sensibly use, and that's on the 'fast side' for me in this combination. The norm for Viht powders in this combination is a choice of N140, 540, or 150. In the UK, N150 is probably the preferred grade for range work.

@Laurie this is what I was thinking based on the reloading data available. But here in continental Europe you grab what's available. N133 was available whereas 140 was not. So, here we are. I think I will go down with bullet weight and try 77gr with N133.

Is N150 a double based powder and as a consequence harder on barrels than varget or H4895?

No, it's single-based, as are all Viht N100 series powders.

It does have a 'High-Energy' (single-based kernels infused with nitroglycerin late in the production process) partner, Viht N550. All N500 series products are of this type and some are pretty 'hot'.

I use N140 and N540 in my 6BR. N140 under 95 gr Bibs and N540 under 105 Gr Berger VLDs.

I used N135 in my 6BR.85Grn bullets 4grove Krieger barrel and it shot ok but not as good as I expected.i had a tub of varget unopened in the cupboard and one day decided to load some 6BR with it..WOW the groups just shrunk like you would not believe.very low .2s were the norm.crows,rabbits,foxes.right out to 500plus yards.it really splits hair's with varget.i managed to purchase 8 tubs before it disappeared of the shelves over here.
