vortex warranty?

How is the warranty?

In my view, Vortex warranty is outstanding. I have 2 recent experiences that cause me to feel this way. Both happened this year.

#1. Last year I bought a pair of the Fury range finding binoculars. I pre-ordered and got one of the first pairs out. I used them last year on a deer hunt, they worked fine. I took them on my annual month long prairie dog hunt this year. About a week into the hunt the button that turns them on and ranges, stopped making good contact. So instead of 1 press, it took 3-4. Just kind of annoying. So I called Vortex, asked if they could send me a loaner pair and a shipping label so I could send them in for repair. They said they didn't have any loaners, but checked around and found a dealer with a new pair. I took mine in, exchanged and all was good. This is not how they handle warranty work, but they did an exception due to my circumstances.

#2 During my hunt one rifle had a Vortex Scope on it. I became convinced the zero was shifting. I lived with it for the rest of the hunt. When I returned, I shipped it to them, explaining what I thought was happening. They put my scope through all the tests, and it checked out fine. They called me and asked for more detail. They suggested they mount it on a rifle and shoot 40 rounds through the rifle to check it out, if I could live with a little longer until they returned them. I said sure. The found nothing was wrong with the scope. I got the scope back, put it back on my rifle and confirmed they were right. They were very patient with me, did a thorough check out, and never were anything but extremely polite to me. I felt bad that I caused them work that wasn't necessary.

I love the quality of the glass, the features, and now the warranty.

Sent in a $99 Crossfire 1 6x24x50 top turret base came lose got in back in less than a week all fixed no charge just my shipping to them. Vortex is Top Notch

I have seen pictures of a brand new Vortex that was on a ML that went KABOOM. Sent in the chunks, told the truth, and still got a new scope.

If it's a broken Vortex, they will replace or fix it - period.

The very few times I have contacted them , they have been very good answering questions... I just bought another one for a Rimfire because of it....

Best warranty in the business. Their warranty standards have changed the entire industry for how manufacturers cover their products and treat their customers.

A simple google search will reveal nothing but positive reviews of Vortex CS. No reason to start a thread here.

LOL!!!! Are you serious??? Their warranty is legendary. Some of their products are average to below IMO and people (myself included) still use them bc the CS is so great. EVERY TIME I spoke to them they NEVER gave me any issues and are ALWAYS helpful. They have some good higher end scopes. IMO.

Having lived close to Vortex, I dealt directly with them for purchases. Walk into their showroom and they had display cases with items that they warranted. Someone blew up their rifle and mangled the scope, they covered it. I also remember some burnt binoculars that someone dropped into their campfire, also covered it. It doesn't matter what you do. You don't even need proof of purchase, as in second owner.

Buy one and you will soon find out. Unfortunately, I have nothing but negative things to say about Vortex products but their CS and Warranty is top notch I will give them that.

Not true. Not everyone who buys a Vortex uses the warranty or even a majority. People who have, usually with the less expensive models or damaged scopes, are happy and talk about their experiences.

Vortex warranty not only covers mechanical issues but also accidental damage as some have mentioned. Drop your rifle off the bench? Out of a tree stand? Accidentally run your rifle over at range? Scope burns in a car fire? All covered and you will get a repair or replacement free of charge. This is the part of the warranty people forget about but is great to have.

Nothing but good to say about them. I dropped a pair of Binos, No Problem.
I have 2 gen2 Razors and they Track solid. Wish the Glass was a bit better.

Sigh : you know , I just prefer things to work and not break . For
the third time , I’ve dropped off a PST Vortex for replacement or
repair . I give up. Things may be speedier in the US , but here in
Aus , it’s drop off or send your scope in and wait a few weeks or
months to get a result .

I think we all do. Sucks you are having the issues you are. They are a lot faster here but when in another country it does take longer like people having to send back scopes to Germany. Hopefully fourth time is a charm for you.

My LR shooting mentor had a $600 Vortex that a major retailer was blowing out at $400. Would not hold zero and they gave him some grief about taking it back. They eventually did and sent him a new scope which he promptly sold.

Who gave him grief? Vortex or the retailer?

That's odd and the first I have heard Vortex being anything but helpful to anyone calling in for work. Wonder if he just got someone on a bad day. If ever an issue again in the future if he gets another have him talk to Scott or Reuben.

The only thing I hate about Vortex warranty is that it takes a week for my scope to get there and a week to get it back. T hat is want i get for living on the left coast. ;)

I have 4 Vortex scopes. I'm not worried about using the warranty if I EVER have too. I always have a good spare scope to use if the need ever arises to send any brand scope back.
