VORTEX VIPER PST SCOPES

Vortex Viper PST Scope. So has anyone tested these scopes yet. How do they fair up to the big guys (Leupold,Nightforce,USO,Weaver, Trijicon) and so on. On the click adjustment do they return back to zero or are they sloppy. How is the glass.

I havent had a chance to look threw one, and I have never looked threw any other big brand scopes. But, I think I'm going to order a 6-24x50. I'm not sure if I'm getting a FFP or SFP. I'll have to decide when I get the prices from the local gun shop where I'm getting it.

When I get mine I will let you know how I like it.

i have talked to several people and they all talk them up alot.... but again have not looked down the tube.... i'm spoiled because of owning some ior valdatas...
but am also considering the 6 x 24 pst, but will definately go for the first focal because of being able to range at all powers where as the second focal will only dothe ranging at one power......

I have one in second focal plane and looked through a 4-16 FFP. There SFP is well setup with detents for 1xvalue of moa or mrad at 24x 2 at 12x etc, so it gives you better ranging capability than a typical SFP where you don't know where it is at. Beats a Mark 4 hands down in optics and tracking and you don't have to be worrying about a 3 or 4 degree cant in the reticle. They don't have number of optionss for reticles that NF does, but the ones they have are clean and well thought out. What a lot of people don't test is the scope offset. My regular viper holds truer than the NF I was setting up for a buddy. We were measuring scope offset. My razor held 3/16" over roughly 30" of clicks. His NF was 1.2" off. Doesn't mean so much at 600 but beyond that it starts adding up especially in the UKD tactical stuff. My PST is 3/8" over on 36". For what it is worth, my regular Viper was 3/4" over 30 inches. The PST is tough (not to the tank degree of the razor) and has something with the zero stop shims. Kept cost down but they are effective.

As far as glass fairly comparable to NF, better than Leupy, better than Bushnell Elite 4200 in, and in low light conditions it really shines, putting my once favorite SIII 8-32 benchrest scope to shame. Clear and similar resolution to my IOR 3-18x42 in day but kicked the IORs tail in lowlight (very suprising to me).

Email me at jjkuchar@gmail.com if interested in more comparison particulars or if interested in one. I can get you squared away.
