Vortex Viper HS-T

Has anyone had any experience with these? I'm looking for something with a mid-power range for shooting steel up to 1000 and the occasional coyote. Also am pretty tight on budget so I'm looking for things around $700.

Thanks

I have had a few Vortexes and they have all been good. I've had clear down to the Crossfire which was a great scope for the money. I also had a Viper which was excellent. I would bet you can't go wrong with that one.

I purchased a viper hs-lr while back and have been pleased. The lr has 1/2" elev. clicks instead of 1/4". Makes like 22" or 24" per turn. Has zero stop on elev turret also.

I think they're a pretty decent scope, pretty much the exact same thing as a Viper PST only SFP, without illumination, and a different reticle. That said, nobody has them in stock and if you order one now you likely won't receive it until March/April/May time-frame; they were just announced at SHOT 2014 and haven't been released from the factory. I tired to order one last week from SWFA and was told "spring time" arrival date.

I ended up spending a few hundred more and getting a Sightron SIII.

I don't have the HS-T, I do have the 6x24 HS variety. I haven't had much time to do a long term evaluation of the scope. I bought it primarily for groundhogs at 300 yds or less and have it mounted on a 22-250 and so far I have been happy with it. The 6x24 HS has 1/4" adjustments on both elevation and windage. I did notice that the 24x "T" version has more internal adjustment than the HS 42 moa vs 65 moa so that should help with long shots. My scope was on backorder for several months before I finally got it .IMO the glass is similar to my Nikon monarch in terms of brightness and clarity. I would buy the scope again.

Vortex is good and their warranty is great because your probably going to need it. Sightron makes allot better scope for the same money, glass is easily more clear.

Cameraland has the hs4-16x44lr, i ordered a demo model, should be here tomorrow, (of course i'll be out of town.)
