:'( I just bought a brand new viper and it will not focus clear at 100yds I should at least be able to see the edge of a bullet hole at 100yds easy, almost can't see the bullet hole at all, is this just how these scopes are Imean my brother has a BSA THAT IS clear at 100 this scope is like almost blurred

I mean I use to shoot 1000yd benchrest had 6 unertl target scopes 24 to 36x and luepolds 24s target I quit shooting 25 yrs ago sold all my stuff I'm use to seeing bugholes at 100 I can't even distinguish 2 holes touching with this scope, I mean I should be able to see the ragged edge of the hole plainly with clarity not just sayin there is a hole there see the hole 24x should be clear at that range in this scope

i HAVE adjusted the crosshair to a crisp clear line went out to the bench again and same ol same ol blurred holes it's not clear on 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 maybe I'm asking to much of this scope maybe I should of just waited and purchased a lupyold and be done with it I know they are clear

Vortex glass has never impressed me in a big way, especially any of their optics that use high magninfication. But I know from experience (unfortunately) that they do in fact have the best warranty in the business and you have nothing to worry abut. They will get you a brand new scope if you're not happy.

Ive owned a Viper PST 6-24 scope, Diamondback HP 4-16 scope ("HP" model is not to be mistaken with the standard Diamond back series), Razor 10x42 binos, Razor 10x50 binos, and a Razor 16-48 spotting scope. Out of all those vortex optics I have owned and put through multiple field tests over the years, the only optics I will vouch for on quality for the money is the Razor 10x50 binos and the Diamondback HP 4-16 scope. They both have outstanding glass and quality for the money and are the only two pieces of vortex glass that I still own. The rest went down the road to new owners

I bought a viper 6-24 pst ffp and love it. I have lupy Nikon but by far the glass in the vortex is better. send the scope back , it should be clear and sharp, I see holes clear out to 200 with no problem with my 204

It is good glass but Vortex is lacking in low light performance. If you put that Vortex up against a Nikon Monarch with the same size objective and using the same magnification in low light right before dusk, the Nikon will give you a clear picture after the Vortex goes dark and fuzzy. I suppose Vortex is still a new company and may develop better glass coatings in the future.

Interesting, I have a Vortex HS-T 6-24x50, a couple of standard vipers (5.4-20x44 & 3-9x40) and the Diamondback HP 4-16. The diamondback is the one I'm most disappointed in. The glass seems okay, on par with the Vipers but the eye box is extremely sensitive, especially at 16x. The turrets on mine are also mushy.. I was actually thinking about sending it in to have it checked.

Yeah I have no issues with the one I put on my son's rifle. We shot it a bunch at 200 yards on 16x to sight it in and shoot a couple groups. I don't recall any issues with the eyebox and turrets adjusted perfectly. Now the turrets aren't as solid as the viper series, but they're not "cheap scope mushy" either. They adjust fine and hold true for me.

As for the eyebox, I'd make sure you aren't out of the eye relief range of the scope when set to max power. That will make any eyebox fussy.
