Vortex Switchview

Purchased a Vortex Switchview throw lever (SV-5) for my Vortex Viper PST Gen ii scope. After reading the installation instructions and looking over the lever itself, I have concerns how effective it is and whether it might possibly damage the finish on the exterior of the scope since it relies strictly on a friction fit to engage the magnification ring. I did reach out to Vortex directly and they assured me that it would not damage the finish on the scope but after they gave me a different torque value than the instructions that came with the Switchview and couldn't tell me why they were different, I have doubts.

Anyone have any experiences with the Vortex Switchviews they can share?

Thanks...........

Have ‘em on all my vortexes, never an issue or concern after years of competition use.

Think for 30 seconds about what power you’ll have the scope on “usually” so you can center the throw where you want it and it won’t it be too far on either side of the scope for easy manipulation.

There is a torque spec for these? Who knew! Don’t overthink it.
