Vortex Scope

has any one used the Vortex brand of scopes with the 30mm tube and side parelax?
I was wondering if they track true in the reticle adjustment? they seem pretty reasonable for the price.
Thanks Ron

Ive got a Viper 6.5-20x50. It works awesome and is really clear. I can't say how it tracks tho. Its brand new. I do have a Viper 3-9x40 and it tracks awesome as far as I can tell so I expect my 6.5-20 to track well also. I also have a Crossfire 6-24X50 and I haven't had any issues with its tracking or keeping zero on my light 270win.

Hope this helps.

i have a viper 6.5x20 50mm side focus. it has been to 600 , 1000 and back to 100 a few times now and has returned to the 100 yard zero every time. so far it tracks as good as my sightron s3 . hope this helps.

+1 on what TT said.
i shoot a viper as well on my Elesio RTS in .260rem It is not a night force, S&B, Leupold, or US optics but neither is the price tag!!! buy with confidence, great warranty form the company!!
cheers,
doc

I've got two 6.5x20x44 Vipers. They track up and down to 1200yds and return to zero everytime. The closeout price last fall for the 6.5x20x44 with standard fine plex reticle for $250 was a steal. Wish I had bought more. I've got my eyes on a Viper PST now.

A 6.5x20 Viper has done all I could ask and then some on my .308. It holds zero, adjusts accurately and repeatably, is clear and bright, and the workmanship is very nice overall. My experience with this Vortex scope is what gave me the confidence to order the PST...

Thats awesome. You have to let us know how it works out for you. I want one too.

I looked at both of Vortex's displays at SHOT - have been interested in them since reading so many positive reports here & on other websites. The reply to my question about their distribution system left me feeling slightly snubbed - instead of offering info on how to become a dealer, the guy I spoke with simply said they were selling direct and walked away. Maybe it was lunchtime, or maybe they had an important potential customer waiting, or maybe I had BO - I dunno; I was a little tired myself after wading through the crowded aisles for two days. He may have read "gunsmith" on my show credentials and decided he had more important fish to fry - whatever, it's no big deal, but I really was interested in their scope line.

If Vortex's optical quality is comparable to, and their adjustments hold up as well as my Nikon Monarch Tactical/Xs, Sightron SIIIs, Leupold VXIII LRs, and now Weaver Super Slam, Euro SS, & SS Tacticals, I'd be interested in trying one.
