Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85mm - common issue?

Just picked up a new Vortex Razor HD 27-60x85 and have to say I am very disappointed in it. Was wondering if anyone else has tried one (outside of a store preferably) and had any issues with getting the focus really sharp?

Looking at the top of a cell phone tower 600 yards from my house, my 15 year old $200 Burris spotting scope has clean sharp edges for the cabling at the top of the tower where the Razor showed the cables as fuzzy. This happening from around mid power all the way up to 60x zoom.

Right now thinking I am going to return it but wanted to see what others were experiencing with theirs to see if I have bad unit or a typical one.

Thanks!

I've got the Razor gen 1 with the fine focus above. Sharp as a tack. Set it up next to a Williams Optical astronomical scope and a Kowa 85mm with the fluorite lens. Hard to tell them apart. And I'm a glass snob having owned Takihashi and Televue APO's in the past. Something wrong with your scope. Send it back.

Thanks for all the replies.

Quick update - I contacted Vortex regarding the issue and I have to compliment them that they were very pro-active in wanting to resolve the situation. After talking with them and describing wat was happening, they immediately were eager for me to send them the spotting scope. When they learned I had only had the spotting scope for about 2 or so weeks, they made the decision to send out a new replacement unit via overnight delivery. The new spotting scope focus's much sharper and the image is much clearer. The first one is on it's way back to Vortex for them to analyze.

Kudos to the Vortex Team!!
