Vortex Razor HD 16-48x65 for ELR?

How would this scope do for 1500 yds plus? They are on sale at Cabelas as I believe they are a discontinued model. This would be my first spotting scope. Have relied on another guys scope and spotting to get me out as far as I have gone which is 1660 yards.
