Vortex military discount

I'm sure some of the good folks here are aware of this but for those who aren't Vortex optics has a military discount.
the good thing about it is you don't have to be on active duty, as long as you served you will receive the discount.
all you need to do is provide documentation to prove you are a vet. For this reason I will be a life time customer of this company. I was retired early out of the army in 2004 due to wounds sustained in combat (Iraq) and I am now a 100% disabled vet so I live on a fixed income. so any discount helps out a lot especially in our sport of shooting.

When I inquired about a military discount about a year and a half ago I was told they did not offer one. as far as I know only Leupold and NF offered one but only to active duty members of the military.

Don't know about Leupold but I contacted Nightforce and asked if this discount was extended to retired military personnel and they said it was.

This is true, but the vast majority of them extend their discounts to active duty or retired only. There are lots of vets out there that didn't retire. I did 6 years myself and don't qualify for most of the programs. With Vortex they state very clearly "This program is for active and veteran members of the US Military, members of the National Guard, and Law Enforcement Officers."

I did reach out to sightron, they do have a program and sent me a price list and the order form. Their form says "active or retired". I replied asking if plain vets qualify but never got an answer.

The vortex discount is very nice.. it is off of their MSRP but the discount is large enough that I have yet to see any retail outfit beat their price. I picked up a HS-T and saved over $100 from Cameralandny's refurbished list.

For what its worth, the sightron list was also nicely discounted.. easily beating the prices at big supply shop.
