Since when did they jump up in price?
Just last year they used to be $1400 retail and could get in the $1200 range.
Now I see they are $1999
Did they suddenly improve them $500?

Depends on how you look at the issue. Maybe they were worth more than $2,000 but were underpriced. I have two and think they would be a steal at $1,400.

Yes the prices did go up for him, but still the best dealer, price
wise, to work with. I just got one from him for a short course
build. He will get you a better than good price on a Night Force
also.

I have one also. Great scope but it is priced about right at $1400.. Not a steal. At the $2000 price point, I'd be spending a couple hundred more and going with a NF Comp. I don't think they will sell very well at 2K until NF bumps price to 3K.

My Guess is a new minimum advertised price from Vortex. Probably some special price deals to be available for those that look beyond the advertised price

As everyone else is said the golden eagle was a good scope for the price of 1400. It's certainly not in the $2,000 price range. If certain vendors can sell them " under the table" down around 1400 where they should be. Then we are right back to price gouging by the other vendors. Just my two cents for what it's worth!

The price for used usually coincides with the refurbished scopes sold by aa optic. Used to be 1100, be interesting to see where the next batch is sold at

SWFA show the same price. I remember when they first came out.
They were going for just over $900 street, and that's only about
5 or 6 years ago.

Liberty Optics still lists them at $1459 when you put it in the cart. MAP looks like it went to $1999.

And it's just an annual price increase across the board so nothing nefarious. Vortex hasn't raised prices in a while and with the world like it is with supply chain and components it needed to happen.

First off, I am a huge Vortex supporter/user and the Razor GII has replaced several of my NF NXS optics. I find the GII to be clearer, brighter, spot on parallax and adjustments precise. I now use them for all my shooting EXCEPT LR BR matches.
The NF 15-55 comp is all I use for BR. I find the glass to be superior to the GE, the reticle choices more varied and I can set the zero stops and go between the 600 and 1000 yard matches with more confidence.
Yes, I recently noticed the price hike on the GE and wondered why but hasn't the NF Comp (for that matter most all scopes) gone up a bit in price as well?

I had a look at the current prices we pay over here on them (still old stock so I doubt the new prices are in effect) and they just about doubled in price from what I payed 4 years ago, you will need a fair amount of extra cash to go to the NF comp
