Vortex GE or NF 42 Fixed Power

I like the Vortex GE with ECR-1 reticle and have several of them. I need another scope and thought about getting one more but wondered if it's a good idea to try a NF 42 fixed power scope to try something different. The price is about the same. The only reticle available is the fine crosshair though. Would the NF 42 power with fine crosshair reticle a good choice for paper targets mostly at 100 yards and sometimes at 200 yards?

You can’t go wrong with either scope for your intended purpose. I own both. The GE is the heavier of the two. I like both scopes but will say this. To my eyes, the NF glass is brighter and sharper and I don't think you will get much argument from anyone who has made direct comparisons.

I prefer the dot reticle on the GE over the FCH on the NF. Wish I’d have got the dot when they were still available from NF.

I also have the Sightron 45 but can’t give it a fair assessment since it hasn’t been used yet, but will say the dot reticle looks like it is a winner.

Thanks guys for all the info. I like having the center dot. Got to look at the Sightron. Maybe there will be a deal on Black Friday.

To each their own, but seriously a Vortex Golden Eagle with Max 60x or a Nightforce Fixed 42x at 100-200yds.
Making the X-Ring look like the size of basketball through your scope wont help you hit it any better.
I made this same mistake years ago, thinking a huge X-Ring seen through the scope meant better hits... NOPE!!!!
