Nightforce 42 fixed power

Lou. 2 friends of mine who shoot IBS short range score have them and both told me that they like them very much.

I have two of the new fixed 42x Nightforce scopes that I use in IBS short range competition. They are a really great scope, especially if you are trying to make weight limits. I have both the fine crosshair and the dot (one of each).
A few other shooters also have the new scopes, and we have talked many times about what a great scope they have turned out to be.
If you are looking for something that is lightweight in order to make a weight limit then I cannot recommend anything else.

I have the CTR2 (dot) model - had it for about 5 weeks and very pleased with it. Have used it on both a .22 RF benchrest rifle (turbo) and a 6ppc benchrest (Kelbly). Bought this model for the low weight. Have not used a Leupold 40/45 x 45 so cannot compare the glass but I prefer the robust feel of Nightforce scopes.
Upgraded from a Sightron 36x Big Sky so at about 4 times the price of a Sightron I expected a lot. The Nightforce image is very clear with a slight blue grey tinge, sharp, cross hairs and dot very clear. Side focus can take a couple of attempts to get it spot on. Elevation and windage adjustments are spot on. So far it's lived up to expectations but it's expensive.
If you can stand the weight and size I would recommend the 5 - 55 X 56 Nightforce over the fixed power; it just bigger and brighter, more versatile and better value.
