volume of brass

so after tumbling I am weighing to see the volume of each case.
Must these cases be sized first and trimmed before I fill with H2O and weighed?
also what +/- tolerences are acceptable

I also sort my projectiles as well

Do ALL the work before weighing cases , grouping as close as you can get... If your going to add water and check the volume just install the used primers back into the case...
