Voelker Sako P94s/ Finnfire

I just picked up this custom Brian Voelker built P94s. It has a beautiful lightweight stock with 2 1/4” forearm nicely pillar bedded with aluminum buttplate. Shilen barrel stamped Voelker 22lr Match Shilen 17tw. It also has the rare P94s Jewel trigger that breaks at 2 oz. It came with the manual, factory sporter barrel, factory sporter stock, and factory trigger that all look new. I just mounted a Leupold 36x scope with a set of Kelbly rings I machined down from 3/8” to 11mm. I have several high quality, classic rimfires from all the major manufacturers, yet this is my first Sako rimfire. I am excited to run some ammo tests on it and see how it shoots!

I agree! I have a 40x that Brian also built, and it does shoot extremely well!

That's a rifle I'd like to own! Had a Rem 504 done by him as a sporter rifle years ago and regret selling it...

I was able to do some lot testing this weekend. It was 52 degrees, with about a 7mph wind occasionally quartering away from the left. I shot (3) 5 shot groups at 50 yards each with several brands and lots of ammo until the wind became a bit less predictable. It definitely preferred german ammo, (lapua midas+ and center x, german wolf extra, and its favorite, 2 lots of rws r50) over several lots of eley tenex, black box, etc. I was also able to get much better results shooting this rifle “free recoil” with only contact on trigger and trigger guard over conventional (light grip and cheek weld). Most groups averaged .3-.4” with the eley lots and tightened up to around .04” (my best group with rws r50) to around .3 shooting free recoil with (2) lots of midas+ and (3) lots of r50 I had on hand.
