VISION Problems -- Cranial Nerve Palsey

As we get older vision problem occur .Years ago I had 4 cranial nerv palsey in one eye
Now I have 6 cranial nerv palsey in the other eye
6 palsey causes double vision
Has any one dealt with this

Yes- I would have to dig into my medical records to see the exact palsey number but as I remember they called it a 3rd palsey. I was ct scanned and had a mri and worked with an eye nuerologist, it showed I did not have a blockage in my cartoid asrteries (sp). My symptom was the right eye would not scan to the left of center but worked just fine when scanning to the right. Therefore, when I scanned to the left I had double vision. I learned to keep my head pointing to the left a few degrees while looking forward. It took about 7 weeks to totally go away but after 3 weeks I could see it was getting back to normal. It did not effect my shooting as long as I closed the left eye, I shot a pretty deent buck 6 days after it hit me. The nuerologist said I did not have a stroke or TIA but evidently had some sort of momentary blood flow interuption. This was in November of 2019. Wayne Corley

After having covid I now have the same problem its been a couple of months since this happened I seem to have better days now and then, thanks for this post I have an appointment next with my eye Dr. and I will mention this.

Yes, my wife has 3rd, 4th and 6th nerve palsy in her dominate eye. The first indicators were double vision and a wavy/pulse sensation. Turns out she had an 18mm aneurysm in her internal carotid artery, in the cavernous sinus. The aneurysm was packed with 36 coils, 15 years ago. However, nerve damage was already done. Now, doctors can bridge the aneurysm with a solid stent and the blood in the aneurysm dries up and disperses. Would be worth your time to get an MRI. My wife originally went to her care provider to get a referal to an ophthalmologist. He said he would run some diagnostics then tell her what kind of referral she needed. He saved her life.

I had 6th nerve palsy. Started last October. Had CT scan to rule out stroke, etc. Ophthalmologist diagnosed as 6th nerve palsy and said it usually fixes itself. It did after two and a half months. Not good for driving or shooting. Vision is great again now.
Hope yours clears up quickly.
