Very pleased with powder availibility at my LGS

I took a ride out to my two LGS's whom have a good stock of reloading supplies this past sunday. It's about a 2 hr round trip so I bring some dough and make it worth my while (slapped on the saddlebags and took the Harley ;) I am pleased to report there is no more maximum purchases at my LGS's, and get this... I saw BOTH R15 and Varget on the shelves ! What is up with that ????? LOL Had a great conversation with the sales person and he said powder is definately getting easier to obtain, The had a great variety of 8# jugs for sale as well (although I didn't see 8# jugs of Varg just about six 1# cans on the shelf). Well stocked with bullets and primers as well. A very encouraging sign !! How's your supplies ?

Can you say where this store is and it's name?

Don't do it Road, you'll have a hoard of hoarders descending ;D ;D upon your store like vultures!!!

I'm also seeing the same at one of my local gunsmith shops. A wide selection of powders and primers. But, he said brass and some bullets are still tight. Southwestern Pa.

My local GreenTop hardly ever has powder but they had some Varget the other day for $26 a pound. My closer gun shop has an awesome selection of powder and primers and lots of them both. The only problem is he's charging $32 a pound for Varget, and you can imagine how all the other items are priced. So that stuff continues to just sit on the shelf.

I'd pay $32 if I really needed it + no hazmat charge.. Shop's that over charge though are great advertisers for the ones that don't..

The Top isn't bad on their prices, the worst is the one up off 17, $46 a pound for VV....

Bass pro (should be bass rank amateur) will match Green Tops price if you talk to a manager. They matched their price on a bag of no6 shot for me one day.

Agree... Saw the same thing at my local store today. Varget, RL-15, Hodgdon Titegroup, Red dot, blue dot, green dot, H4350, H335, etc. all in stock. It was the best selection of powder I have seen in a long time. They even had 22 lr but were thankfully limiting purchase to 2 boxes of 50 per person. I think powder supplies are getting better. Still hard to find CCI BR2 or Fed 210M primers and of course 22LR but other things seem to be improving slowly. That is until the next big anti-gun news story or school shooting.

Bumping this thread as I took a ride out to my two fav reloading supply stores yesterday and I am very happy to report they both had an excellent supply of powders ! Now get this.... I saw 4 cases on the floor of 8# jugs of VARGET for sale !! I also saw ten 1# containers of Varg on the shelf !! How sweet is that ??!! I also saw a ton of Win 748 , as well as H335, 4895, BLC(2) , and Benchmark. The only powderI didn't see was R15 . I am seeing a great diverse supply of 8# jugs of the popular powders, something I have not seen in well over a year. Primers and bullets were in excellent supply as well. First time in almost 2 years I walked out with everything I needed. So instead of crying panic, i'm crying happy tears... LOL

This was at my local store about a week ago. They are kinda high some of their prices, but not on all items.

They have several jugs of H4350 and H1000.
