Very dissapointed

My whidden bullet pointer arrived today. Can not say that I am thrilled with the quality vs cost. Parts are missing which I am sure Bullets.com will take care of.

The sleeve and spacer are missing for one thing. The insert is very rough machined on the outside and the micrometer top is not the best machining either... I may get hate mail for this but for $200 I expected a lot more than what I am seeing.

Edit. I found the missing spacer/sleeve thingy.

Nice response Terry....that part is clearly not right. Broncman did you contact Whidden to see what they had to say before you posted?

Probably slipped past. It's just a couple guys who get last stage at Whiddens. So with all that's being shipped out, I'm sure small things like that get overlooked occasionally.

Call Whiddens and they will make it right I'm almost positive. if that bothers you that much

yeah, my guess is a quick call to John will get that taken care of if its actually an issue. Pick up the phone bro.

I had nothing but great service from Whidden. Just go direct to Whidden. I had an issue with a die and within a few days had a new FL bushing die and they sent a return shipping label for the bad die.

Carrie took care of me right away. Just email them and they will get you squared away.

I just looked at my inserts and none of them look like that. Its an obvious slip, but when a mfg takes care of the customer right away and makes it right, that will win my business. hell, i have their point die and 2 of their FL resizer dies and seater dies. Im a walking Whidden advertisement. LOL.

Is there supposed to be a spring in these? I figure it has went through a few revisions as I see some pics with one and some without. I have no doubt it will work great. I know some do not like it when people voice a displeasure and call it dirty laundry. I have in no way slandered whidden but merely stated my "review" of the product received. I am sure he has great customer service as he has an impeccable reputation within the community.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but when you reach a certain price point , you EXPECT to not have to use customer service for quality issues. Every slams Lee and other makers and it is accepted. I just simply gave my review so to speak.

I will not post anymore in this subject and the mods can remove or delete it if they view this as airing dirty laundry.

I just received a die set for 7mm Shehane.it is a work of art.
Don't know if I want to use it or put it on the fireplace mantel.
I paid for it with a certificate I won at the Remington Lr regionals
at Reade range. This just goes to show that Whidden is good
people. that is a $260 prize. And it is greatly appreciated.
I personally never seen a bad part come out of there shop.

the op should of really called Whidden FIRST. then he could of wrote
how good customer service is.
Just my thought's.
