vertical stringing with 7mmRem mag

You'll have to let us know how that all turns out in your rifle.
If I was to build it again I would slow the twist down to 1-9.
As is it won't stabilize the 168's at all. Good luck on the powder
search, I did see some Retumbo on the shelves today, but was $31 per pound,
seems a little steep to me.
 
I am curious to how you made out. I have seen powder going for upper 30's to 40's a pound. Some places seem to be really gouging. That 31.00 a pound probably isn't that high. Years ago I thought I used 4831 when I had a 7 mag. Slow powders usually don't work as good when it gets cold. Matt
 
I just bought a few #'s at $25 a pop for Retumbo..The only thing the guy I have dealt with for years is behind on is .22's :)
 
Yeah at $25/lb that's a good price. The new extreme powders have really been working well up here in the cold.
Yes I used to run with RL22, but have gotten away from that and switched to Retumbo and as long as it can be
found that is what I'll continue to use.
