Vertical grip stock for hunting

Thinking of a trying something like a McMillan Gamescout on a hunting rifle. Looking for thoughts/opinions?

I just picked up a couple of those same stocks.

i shoot a lot of stuff during the spring and summer months that have a more vertical grip so moving to these for hunting rifles seemed like a good idea.

I put one on each of my coyote rifles and absolutely love the way they feel. O shoot these guns prone more than anything and they work great like that but even in sitting or offhand situations they feel great.

I got the edge filling in mine to save some weight. Great stocks for sure.

Its not as different as you might think. I have no issue shooting them in different positions. In most every position I am almost indifferent to the grip shape.

Grew up shooting straight stock rifles and shotguns, got my first pistol grip in 1957 on my first new gun, a mod 12 Winchester pump. Been using them ever since but haven't had the courage to try one of the new "full pistol grips". They feel good and I think I would like it but just haven't gotten up the nerve

I agree with what you are saying

Pistol grip. Totally natural position. Helps manage recoil too. All my rifles are sniper stocks. My $.02....
