Vert or Horz spread = IMPORTANT

Just did a new OCW test with new bullets. Based on my understanding of the OCW method and HOW you decide which weight/group is desirable I have more than one weight that looks ideal. That being said I have one group with little to now vertical spread and one group with little to no horizontal spread.
Wind was negligible but mirage was HIGH.

Which is more important, which of these groups would you take as your OC weight ??

Based on what I see, I'd be looking at 42.4 the reason is that the poi didn't change vertically from the 42.2 load, nor did the center move away at 42.6

I'd just try the 42.4 and vary the seating depth to see how much you can tighten it up.

Definitely 42.4. I personally would try 42.3, 42.4 & 42.5. Pick the best out of that group, with the least vertical. I would then take that one charge and fire 5 shot confirmatory groups at 100 yds. Next, take it out to 200 yds. and play with seating depth if you need to.

42.0 42.2 looks the best to me with high marage one went up one bullet hole an the other went right .Did you check the marage right under the target. That will give you vertical. I have a older black powder shooter that told me to always check under the target. Larry

I like the 41.8 to 42 load both were tight groups. 42.2 opened up and 42.6 opened up that tells me the accuracy node is small. It would be interesting to see what higher charge weights would produce in groups and then play with seating depth, Good luck!
