Varmits with 32gr. Blitzking

I use both the Siera and Hornady and they both work great on praire dogs but that is the only thing I have used them on.

My initial testing with the 32 gr. Sierra really had me impressed with the accuracy of these bullets. They were as accurate as their big brother the 39 gr. Sierra in my first few test loads. However, after loading up a couple boxes of and doing some range work with that load to get the scope adjusted, the "personality" of these 32 gr. BlitzKings did a complete turn around on me. Here's what I found on my target. The bullseye on the right is the point of aim, but shots 1 and 4 were about 6.285" left of the point of aim!!!

The 32 gr. Sierra BlitzKings, it seems, wouldn't stabilize decent in my Savage 12VLP in .204 Ruger if I tried to run them faster than 3,850 to 3,875 fps. They tumbled on the way to a 100 yard paper target and many times I could see them hit the ground halfway to a 100-yard prairie dog. I have not had that problem with the 32 gr. Hornady V-Max though. The load I was using with the V-Max was giving me 4,255 fps MV. I tamed that down a wee bit and the load I now use with the 32 gr. V-Max gives me about 4,175 fps MV.

Before anyone suggests my barrel was coppered up, these 32 gr. Sierras tumbled even on shots out of a freshly cleaned, copper-free barrel, yes I used a bore scope to check it too). I once theorized that it was possible the batch of 32 gr. Sierras I had were defective, but I have no proof of that.

The 32 Sierra worked great on groundhogs and prairie dogs last summer. No problem on groundhogs at 350 yards and prairie dogs a little further out.

Tumbled in our Savage too. Couldn't get any Vmax or BK's 32 gr. bullets to work well in ours. We ended up going to the 40gr Vmax to get the better groups as it turned out. Just surprised that the 32 gr. Sierra's tumbled as they did. Don't recall velocities without looking into it. Good luck.
