Varmint loads

Hi I'm new to the 6mm br community and am after some varmint loads for a 1-8 twist barrel, it's previous owner was getting .2-.3 groups with 108g bergers but I would like something a little lighter if possible.
Obviously there will be some trial and error, but It would be helpful,to have some basic idea where to start.

Varmints are a different game, I would go with a lighter bullet with the flatter trajectory. less misses due to missing range miscalculations. Try the old good 85 HPBT Sierra Gameking, great bullet, great accuracy, and cheap.

For varmints in a 6BR with an 8" twist, my first choices would be the 88 GR. Berger or the 87 GR. V-Max...There are lots of good choice. The 87 Gr Berger Hunting bullet is another good choice. 8208 XBR and Varget would be a couple of powder I would try...There are other very good choices ....Go the home page here, click on 6mmBR and you will find lot of good information there....

105g Amax if you can find them, especially if considering shooting out to 600m.

Thanks for the replies, I was a bit unsure if I could go down to 85 - 87g with a 8 twist barrel but on your advice I'll give it a go.

Try 80gr Bergers using 30.7 grs IMR4895 that's what I shoot in my Savage with a Shilen 8 twist barrel that shoots in the twos.

You will be fine with 80's for sure. My 8 twist 6BR shoots the 75 v-max really well also. You'll be fine, and have loads of fun with that rifle. Good luck. Jonathan
