Working out / breaking in the new Borden BR in 20 VT in a Shurley Brothers Stock. Started this build in late late 2015 and just getting around to finishing it. Hopefully this will be a SNERT worthy rifle when I get the brass formed and work out a load after barrel break in

the only dilemma I have ever had varmint hunting is trying to decide how many to leave for seed...
When out Chukar hunting and encountering other hunters, my greeting is always "Well, did you kill the last breeding pair, and save me a lot of bother?"

Seriously, one day my buddy and I hit the California ground squirrels (Otospermophilus beecheyi) so hard in one canyon, they never recovered in a dozen years.

Very nice rifle! !! It turned out great!

If that 20vt shoots like all the others I think u put a lot of chucks down with it!

I was going to say, "that cannot be Pa. .......shooting woodchucks and the rifle is NOT equipped with a Unertl scope??????.........then I noticed the wooden door used for a benchrest!!! Yep, we're tracking.
Seriously, nice, nice rifle.

We have a house over looking the Susquehanna River in Bradford county and there is a bruiser that comes our of the stone wall up there. The way the field is pitched you have to be really high to get to him. The only thing I have right now that is high enough is to convert a bar table into a shooting bench with an old door.

Totally ridiculous and I love it. Makes me laugh

Greg, you are tearing me up. You are whacking hogs and I may be another12-14 days before starting. Keep the pictures and stories coming.

100% SNERT approved! 20 VT, real wood, custom action, in PA and all atop a custom bench rest. Goodness, it doesn't get any better.

That first live chuck photo , he seems to be saying "Blimey, and shiver me bones, Greg got a new rifle, we are DOOMED".

My wife's people are from Coudersport. Been to Bradford before. Sure is a pretty place and I always saw a bunch of Groundhogs and Deer. Will have to go back up there sometime. Need Videos please.

yes...let us live vicariously!

I just saw that McDonald Sportsman holds a groundhog shoot. I might try to limber up a varmint rifle and go in July. hard to find $100 right now for a non-resident tag just to shoot chucks for a month..,

Videos will be up sunday night or monday. I leave tomorrow am for my buddy's bachelor party all weekend.

Not sure if ground hogs are like rock chucks, in that they are easily wiped out in an area. I know serious rock chuckers will not share their spots and will not hit a spot too often or kill too many. However, rockchucks typically dont live in areas that they cause harm to anything either.
