Varmint hunting

When I was stationed on Camp Pendleton, I was able to shoot ground squirrels in some of the training areas on weekends when those areas weren't being used.

Civilians were able to get permits to hunt on base at that time. It's been a few years, and I don't know if that's changed or not. Probably tougher to get on base now than it was back then.

There was some outstanding ground-squirrel shooting to be had at the time. Gave my little 6mm Rem and my .22 quite a workout.

There was also decent hunting for deer, ducks and doves as well.

I live in San Diego and this county is not very shooter friendly. Lots of restrictions. I used to be stationed on Camp Pendleton and successfully hunted deer there when I was in the Marine Corps but since 911 the base is very restrictive to shooting. Hunting coyotes in the east county may be the best varmint hunting in this county but a lot of the land is no shooting.

I now try to go to Wyoming for prairie dogs and have been wanting to go to Oregon and northern California for ground squirrels. If your interested send me a PM.

ok i understand that it is difficult to hunt in diego trakten.jag will be visiting a friend in that is there and study and I will be there between 29mars to 12 april.vi will go to Las Vegas 30mars and home to Diego 1april with the ability to change if it shows up something trevligt.om anybody know any place that eventueelt could offer some hunting I would be very glad.problemet is that we do not have any weapons with us so we must borrow.offcouse we pay for it

"give away there prim hunting spots" Probably ought to read: "give away their prime hunting spots" - not giving you hell, but your post would be easier to understand if you used spell check, and did some proof-reading yourself Martin!

You need to proof read your post and use spell checker. I'm not giving you hell but it would easier to read your post. I think your asking to much. I don't know anyone that would come get you and let you use there rifles and ammo...give away there prim hunting spots.

hey Martin ,don't be so hard on the guy. english is his second language. i've seen some yanks and rebs on here that didn't do much better. he said he'd pay and if he's from sveden I doubt he'll take over you "prime hunting spot" . regards,Darrell
