Varmint Hunter Magazines - $100

Sorry to break up the nostalgia tour, but FYI - It's against forum rules to try and sell items in the discussion forum. As a non-paying member, I believe you are allowed to sell a limited number of items in the proper forum here:

Marketplace: Sell, Trade, WTB Listings (No Fee)
Yes, technically correct.

The OP could, with a little effort, "hit edit" then delete some of his original post referencing the sale...then let the rest ride, cause dagnubbit, we are all about nostalgia here. Mostly cause we are so damn old thats all we got.

How's that for a solution to the nit?

This was my favorite magazine for years, put together well with excellent articles by Steve Timm, John Anderson, Norman Johnson, etc. I have always wondered what actually happened, they seemed to have a large membership with plenty of advertising in the magazine. I think I had heard rumors of mismanagement of funds? I drove past their headquarters a few years ago on a prairie dog hunt, a real nice area.
I sold all my magazines(except for a couple favorites) recently basically for the cost of shipping just to clean house.

IIRC it was 1077 yds. He was in NC and shot across the river into VA. He used a range finder off a naval ship which was good out to 20,000 yds. He said without it and his scope he would not have seen it
SeabeeKen,
Would that have been (the late) John Seamon? I remember he used a Barr & Stroud rangefinder.

You guys cannot just say "i wrote an article" without telling us what it was and when, if you recall.

You are killing me Smalls!
Snert -
Howdy !

I wrote an article; also.

Trying to recall the title, and approximate year.

" Soybeanus Digestus " as the title ? 1996 -1998 'ish ?

With regards,

My article is in the issue on the far right of the second picture in the OPs post. "Love at first trigger pull a quarter bore love affair with the .250-3000 Savage"

TVHA had a members forum and when it shut down I never found where everyone gathered to start another forum. I do miss the magazine and all the good friendships made. I'll have to look up all the articles I wrote also.

I sure do miss Varmint Hunters Association,Precision Shooting and Small Caliber News coming in the mail. I have kept all of mine and still read them from time to time. I haven't found nothing close to them either.

Mark - I also have complete sets of VHM and SCN, and many, many PS years. Excellent reading material. Several years ago, I even bought a rotating shooting bench from Rick in Oregon!

Definitely worth the OP's listed price!!

Don

Speaking of fake names. Back in the day when I was in SERE school I had a big SS on my chest (scout sniper, but that has since been covered up with a lot more ink...ahhh youthful indiscretion), and one of my interrogators asked what it meant. I said it was my girlfriend's initials. He asked her name, and I said Sharon Stone. That one got me a beating, haha.
