Variance velocity between the Dasher and 6 x 47 Lpua?

Not sure about the new forum changes, time will tell!

However maybe this will give some insight on the accuracy/velocity potential of the Dasher vs the 6 x 47L. It appears to be talked about a lot, but as a comparison there seems to be a lack of enthusiasm relative to " nothing"!
Meaning a lot are trying it but keeping there mouths shut !

My opinion, so roast me not someone else.

From what I have seen both shoot well, and usually at similar velocities. It appears that 6mm accuracy is at 2900 to 3050. The Dasher can do this easily. My friends with the 6X47 load it down to get there.

I owned a 6X47L 4 years ago and I was burning 39 grains of powder and netting 3,080 fps. Got rid of that and just got my 4th 6MM Dasher build back 2 months ago. A Dasher burns roughly 6-8 grains less powder and gives up maybe 50-100 fps to the 6X47L. My first Dasher I was able to push 107 Sierra's right at 3100 fps but accuracy was not there. All 4 rifles shoot well at a velocity of 3,030 fps plus or minus 10 fps. Same bullet in all and same powder within .2 of a grain.

Comparing barrel to barrel with equal lengths, a 47 is good for a solid 100 fps advantage.......

With comparable accuracy, the Dasher's barrel life to the 6mm/47 barrel life, the Dashers barrel life will be 500-800 rounds longer.

Eight grains of powder and 100-150 fps is right there on the bubble. Bump that to a .243 and 12-17 grains and the barrel life is half or less of the Dasher.
