Vari-xIII 6.5x20x50 mil-dot question

I bought a vari-xIII 6.5x20x50LR with side focus from a friend of mine for 500$. My question is where can i find some info on the scope such as,,,how to use the mil-dot effectively,,,is it 1/8 or 1/4 moa adj. and so on,,,,i was on the leupold webpage and did a search,,but it just pulled up all info on the vx-3 scopes not the old style vari-x,when i bought the scope it didnt come with box and paperwork) Thanks in advance

Your scope has 1/4 MOA adjustments...as far as the mil dot goes..it is a very crude sysytem for ranging- but works well for military sniping where a hit is a hit....doesn't matter if it's a kill- like it does with hunting. But a Mil-Dot Master will get you started with it.

I really like the mil-dot for it's very good windage reference in combination with a turret for vertical.
