Yes, RS52 has long been my first recommendation for people looking for a VarGet alternative in 6mmBR and larger case cartridges; likewise RS62 for those despairing at the loss of H4350.

Interestingly though, I've found it appears to change its behaviour in heavy bullet 223 Rem where it acts as if considerably faster burning than VarGet, Re15, or its RS50 stablemate and pressures out at lower charge weights.

Varget has been showing up in the US lately in 1 lb containers in small spurts more regularly (Hodgdon site, Brownells, etc).
After going to the trouble to find alternates to Varget for 6BR and 600 yd 223 service rifle loads, I now find that it is getting harder to find the alternates from Swedish, Czech and Canadian manufacturers (AR-Comp_RP-34TZ; Lovex S062; IMR 4166) than Varget in the US. Laurie mentioned the Russia-Ukraine war. With NATO countries (and soon to be NATO nominees – Sweden/Finland) increasing military spending and with shipment of existing stockpiles of small arms ammunition to Ukraine, it is reasonable to expect that availability of powders for civilian reloaders will continue to be limited for the foreseeable future.
