Varget powder

Simmons sporting goods in Bastrop, La has a shelf full of Varget as well as a lot of other powder. I hope this is a sign that it is getting more plentiful.

Starting to read of many more sightings as well. I went into this mess about as good as any one loader who isn't in a bunker could have... but I'd sure like to be able to restock my shelves this fall.

I checked out Midway and Brownells today for powder. Every single powder made by Hodgdon that would be suitable my rifles is out of stock.

Yeah. The major online retailers will be THE LAST places to have good inventory.

That's where everyone looks.

I did not know that Brunos hooked up with an east coast supplier. Has varied inventory, not exactly fair prices.

Yeah. Bruno's is in our backyard. Their prices are a little steep, but that's the nature of the beast when everyone figures out they need powder at the same time. :o

My LGS was out of Varget for several weeks, but had some 1-pounders last week. They said it had been like that for months - they'd sell out, and be out for a while, then more would come in. I was able to buy 4 pounds, which is about a match for the primers and bullets I have left. I don't remember what it cost.

I took a ride out to my 2 fav LGS's looking for some 2000MR, my first stop did not have 2000MR or Varget, however well stocked on many of the other popular powders such as 4064, Win 748 , 335 , R15 , 4895, i'm also seeing an increase stock of popular powders in 8# jugs. My second stop I did find my 2000MR , and they also had a good supply of Varget, so overall I definately see an improvement in both reloading supplies and ammo in generall out my way (NH). 22LR is in stock but still fighting between 100 and 200 round max purchases.

Just guessing but those who pay the factories the most for powders will be the first to see supplies.

If you have a commodity that is in such demand why ship it to those who get the largest discounts until you have "extra". In a way it's kind of an "auction like" environment out there right now for powder.

Although possible, I'd think that it'd be likely that they'd take care of their regular distributors and honor their P.O.s or whatever as placed.

Now when it hits our shores, any number of scumbags in the supply chain can kink up the retail availability.
