har har— prediction for me is i have a few pounds to shoot up and then I dont plan on ever buying any varget again. It would have to get really cheap for me to buy any. Though I did see an 8# at a LGS a few weeks ago, but I didnt ask the $.

All the powder and primers will become available about 4 weeks before Christmas. Just to ensure you still believe in Santa as you find all the rarest of rare presents under the tree.

Well? Why not? You know I just put the thought in your head and you now have a rekindled belief in Santa Claus….. ;-)

Inventory is slowly coming around, I think we can all see that. I read that demand from Ruger was down 30% from their website I believe, but I've slept and worked since then so that may be a lie. My LGS has powder in stock and primers as well. I walked in a store an hour away and they had several pound of H4350. It's coming around. Once inventory comes back then we will see prices ease assuming nothing happens that causes panic buying again. Remember, we went through this same thing about 13-14 years ago though primers didn't spike so high back then. Any type of pistol ammo disappeared almost over night. It came back once the market settles. I shoot varget in 308 and 204. Those rifles are setting right now.

A friend sets up bows and amkes arrows at a hardware that also has a gun counter. He told me they have 18 one pounders. but they were expensive

There’s more than one solution (in this case powder) to every problem… find them and move on! I was once of the belief that Varget was the best powder in the calibers I shoot, but when it became “unobtanium”, I quickly learned that’s not true. I still have a lot of it, but rarely use it as I’ve found better ones. You can too!

I used to have a varget addiction, back before the “holy one” was anointed - the wise old men (think it was in a dream) said WTF use R15 or some other stuff- I tried , it worked even better, I had one hiccup in breaking the cycle and got my hands on a stash of varget in 2010 , which sits basically unused and unloved in the back of my powder store ,

My rambling point is that there are multiple options out there , y’all just need to figure out the alternatives, you are not alone, I can tell you not to waste your time with h414 for 308, and there are some very clever people on this site and search is your friend

Not much in the way of powder but, a local store just has an unbelievable amount of shotgun shells. Also, their bullet shelves are starting to overflow.

OR lack there of in the New Year

I have purchased 12lbs of Varget this year. Some 1lb's from Hodgdon at about $42 per lb. A couple of months ago I got an 8lb jug from Powder Valley @ $287. It's out there, it just goes quick.

VArget and H4350 are sitting at two of the local stores here, one pounders. I think people are so use to them not having anything they do visit as often. These are small off the beaten path stores anyways.

I recently picked up 2 pounds of varget at my local gun shop. It seams that it is slowly starting to trickle in. There is hope yet.

I'm hearing that Varget and H4198 along with other Aussie extruded powders, may be gone forever. There will be a replacement of sorts. OK by me, I've found several great replacements so I have several pounds that will be sold to the "non-believers", hee, LOL!
