Varget following 8208XBR

Has anyone had any experience shooting Varget after 8208? I know Varget will not always play nice following other powders. 8208 shoots great in my shortline loads, but is only fair for slow prone, Varget holds much tighter. I normally shoot the same powder across the course, but I have a lot of 8208, of course I could save it for the palma gun, Dave

That calls for a range session to test. It seems that your sighters should even out the bore enough to shoot your record shots...

you are correct, getting the to the range is the problem! I may shoot 8208 for a match then follow with some Varget at the end and see what happens! dave

Thanks! 8208 was suppose to be the powder for my 240 Tomahawk, i really wanted it to be, and it has shot well with the shortline loads, never impressed me during slow prone though. Always seemed to get more verticle and at least one shot off call. I really wanted to get away from Varget but last time out with Varget, long line was a 200-13X with 107SMKs, and the verticle was impressive. I should have known, Varget was always the powder when i was shooting the 6MM WOA, and the TH is just the WOA on steroids! Dave

I have tested twice this winter with Varget chasing 8208. No problems so far, seems to work in my rifle. 8208 for the short lines and Varget for 600 is my plan this season.
