Varget at Walmarts

Went for a Vette ride today looking for some IMR4320. The first store didn't have any but did have a couple pounds of Varget. I decided to try another store. They had three pounds. Both stores stock their shelves on Thursday morning. This will keep me and my son shooting for three or four months. Later! Frank

our walmart almost ALWAYS has varget, h1000, imr 4350, 4064, rl22, and rl19 in stock....as well as CCI primers and sierra and hornady bullets

Wow! I've NEVER seen powder at our Walmart stores here. I'll have to look more closely because I've been looking for those powders for months with no luck.

Our local walmart just started carrying powder, but not varget. May have to stop and ask them to carry varget.

The first store had their powder on a shelf seven feet high. Go figure! The second store had it locked in a glass cabinet with the ammo on the bottom shelf. I had to get down on one knee to find it. Makes me wonder if I have overlooked it before. Later! Frank

Even before the present run, all our local Wallyworld (in a medium city full of gun nuts, in the middle of the desert) ever had was kegs of Red Dot. There hasn't been a sighting of any form of powder here since 2012 (at Walmart, that is).

It has been two weeks since I started this topic. I was shopping at Walmart's today looking for .45 bullets. No .45s but they did have three pounds of Varget. I bought one. When I got home I found it was the same lot as that I bought two weeks ago in two different stores. They must be sitting on a ton in one of their distribution centers. Later! Frank

Acme7, I found the Varget in the north Logan store today. Two weeks ago I found it in the south Logan store and in the Perry/Brigham City store. I don't know where the distribution center is. I do know two of the stores stock the shelves on Thursdays. Later! Frank

Yah neither does ours in So Minn. they quit selling firearms about 15yrs or so back

Same here (Georgia). In these parts, you are lucky to find a gun store that carries any components - in the best of times. There is a Bass Pro close to me but their cupboards are still bare.

Maybe WalMart is buying it all up.

I went to three different Walmart stores and they all looked at me like I was crazy. On a good note though, all the stores had their shelves full of ammo of most calibers and they have been that way for weeks now. Only bad thing is that they are still limiting 3 boxes per day per customer. The dust is actually starting to collect on the boxes now.
