Value of Full Auto Browning m1919a4?

He also had a Mac10 in 45 ACP. It was fun, but pretty worthless in my book.

I've camped with Dick and his friends and family on Memorial Day for thirty some years, and he had those two machine guns for probably twenty of those years. The Browning was the impressive one. It had a fine enough sight that if you got on the ground behind it you could really get accurate. And sitting behind it and shooting by marking your hits you could really walk them in.

He kept belts down to 30 to 50 rounds to save barrels. It was called an M37 from Rock Island Armory as I recall.

He had that gawdawful Jeep mount that must have been inspired from "Rat Patrol". Made the thing maybe half as effective as it was from the ground. I always wanted to hand hold it, but never did.

No kidding here…I used to work with an old timer at one of the big 3 auto companies that literally went by Dick Hole; and his name tag on his cube said exactly that. Of course, I was only 25 years old and super immature I thought that was the funniest thing I’d ever seen. I’m slightly more mature….just slightly though. Lol

No club around here will allow full auto for many years now. Semi-auto no fun.

That is Rubin Mendiola, who has for decades maintained the highest standards for all matters of NFA.
He is a First Class Gentlemen, with far more experience and knowledge than most.
There are several other NFA dealers who also reach these goals, and a few others who, in my opinion, do not.

Its a better investment then having the money in a banks CD.

To shoot, the current guns/barrel condition is important. If you resell later, the new owner is going to fire it, at least 1 time.

Are surplus or new barrels available? No barrels, no buy for me.

NFA firearms can be placed in a trust? May be something to look into?

This is kind of a necro-thread I guess, from a few years back. It brought back some great memories for me, of my great friend and his belt fed Browning, and many other good times for about 40 some years of my life.

Dick crossed over to the other side this last year, and the great annual camp-out that we enjoyed for so many years has pretty much come to an end. All I can say about it is "What a time we had!!"

I did have a pic laying around here of my buddy, after he suffered a "golfing injury" at our camp out. The golf course was a beautiful and totally natural meadow, complete with multi creek forks, cow paddies, sink holes, gopher mounds, --- hazards of all kinds. Dick happened to step into one of these hazards, and broke his ankle. There was still a few days of camping and nice weather left, so we just loaded him up in the most comfortable cruiser car (70's Chevy Caprice) and drove him into Bend for diagnosis and treatment. The doc preformed the necessary repair, and sent him "home", which was at least for the next few days back down in the Bridge Creek Canyon. We set him up with a drip feed pain medication, and the party continued. jd

I have an opportunity to purchase a full auto Browning m1919a4 and wondering what a decent market value is on one of these. I'm sure it is worth more than I'm willing to pay for it but I figured this opportunity doesn't come along very often. I would most likely never use it. It would just be a collectors piece and sit in the vault.
Also how rare are these? Tried finding some for sale online and came up with very little. If this is that rare of an opportunity to purchase one then I don't want to pass it up.

I read some time back so it may have changed by now, that only 2 murders had ever been committed with papered MGs since the 1930s when the NFA was enacted. One was corrupt LEO, the other I don't remember. So I don't think any rational argument will end them.

A more likely scenario would be for them to put ALL of our firearms under NFA umbrella as a means of extracting more money from us, and forcing compliance from those who aren't the problem, while still ignoring those who are the problem. jd
